Deaths of migrants at sea have reached record numbers, and certainly not because human rights NGOs are colluding with traffickers, as some have claimed, but because of specific European policies. Also: World Health Day is near, and this year the focus is on mental health; but migrants and refugees have little cause for celebrating, since they are victims of a largely ignored emergency. Finally: the real reasons refugees come to Europe. A pioneering study says that the vast majority of them have experienced terrible violence. On a good note, Italy has finally passed a new law on unaccompanied foreign minors.
