A border within the city: a journey into the Milan hub /4

Since October 2013, an estimated 114,000 refugees have travelled through Milan. The city has welcomed them with the creation of a network of hundreds of beds, the efforts of many associations and continued donations by citizens. And at the heart of this all is the Milan hub, now in its fourth incarnation, widely regarded as a model in Europe, mitigating the suffering of tens of thousands while constantly facing a lack of national political response to the influx of refugees as well as the consequences of the closing of borders in the Balkans, Switzerland and France. We have been telling the story of this metaphorical internal border in an immersive report. This is the fourth and final part, where the protagonists look at their future.
